With an expectant heart and an anticipating soul, we come now with a spirit of preparation. Just what are we preparing for? Our New Testament sisters and brothers prepared themselves for a “king” for an earthly transformation. But thanks be to God for sending us a transforming, redeeming, everlasting and an immortal King -- His Son, Jesus.

So as we move about this week, go with a spirit of preparation that our hungry hearts and thirsty souls will receive the Good News from our Heavenly Father.

The Rev. Glencie Rhedrick

***
Most Holy and Wise God,

We come with our heads bowed and hearts hungry and our souls thirsting with an expectancy and anticipation by preparing ourselves for the Hope of a renewed walk with You. We come with our heads bowed and our hearts hungry and our souls thirsting for a newness and refreshing beginning. So we come with an intentional spirit, preparing ourselves for the gift of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

We come with prepared hearts to thank You more for Your goodness and Your tender mercies extended to us each day. We come with prepared hearts to seek You in all that we say and do. We come with prepared hearts to learn and trust You more. We come with prepared hearts to follow Your will and Your way. We come with prepared hearts to love You more. We come with prepared hearts extending ourselves to help those in need.

Our souls are thirsty for a deeper walk with You. Our souls are thirsty to experience the joy only You can bring. Oh, how our souls thirst and our hearts hunger as we are reminded of the true reason for the season; the birth of our Savior.

So we are preparing, dear Heavenly Father, for the gift that keeps on giving, the Gift of Jesus the Christ. And it is in that name, the matchless name of Jesus the Christ, we pray! Amen Amen and Amen.
