Blacks score low on religious knowledge
African Americans may be among the most religious people on earth, but frequent church-going apparently doesn’t translate into religious knowledge.
On a recent test conducted by the Pew Center’s Forum on Religion and Public Life, black Protestants scored second from last when asked to answer 32 questions that tested their religious knowledge. Only Hispanic Catholics scored lower.
Who scored highest? Atheists/agnostics and Jews.
Americans overall answered 16 of the 32 questions correctly. Black Protestants averaged 13.4.
