Myers Park Presbyterian Church has pledged $200,000 to the Double Oaks Child Development Center in northwest Charlotte.

The gift is part of a $1 million fundraising campaign by the nonprofit center. The church will donate $150,000 immediately with the remaining $50,000 contingent on Double Oaks raising $100,000 in funding from other sources.

The Myers Park Presbyterian grant is the largest single amount received to date. Campaign funds will be used for scholarships, classroom and playground equipment, and family support services that complement the faith-based child development program.
