Kevin Winn, a Qcity businessman and member of First Baptist Church-West, preached his initial sermon there on Sunday, Dec. 6.

Rev. Winn is president and CEO of Citizenship Professor, a company that specializes in immigration document preparation. He has been a board member/vocalist with the Charlotte chapter of the Gospel Music Workshop of America and is a 1996 graduate of Focus on Leadership, a Charlotte-based community leadership development program.

Winn joined First Baptist Church-West in January 2000 and has served the congregation in numerous capacities, including as chairman of the board of finance. Currently he serves as an assistant director and vocalist of the church’s Mass Choir and also sings on its Men’s Choir.

Winn developed a love for music early in life. At age 12 he began directing the choir at his father’s Pentecostal church. He answered the call to ministry under the mentorship of First Baptist Church-West Senior Pastor the Rev. Ricky A. Woods.

Winn holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the State University of New York at Purchase and a Master’s degree in public administration from UNC Charlotte.
