If you love gospel music, here are three events with live entertainment to mark on your calendar:

The Journey: A Live Music Event
Spend an evening of worship with gospel recording artist Shirley Murdock during the live CD and DVD taping of her new project entitled: The Journey: A Live Music Event.

Featured guests include Kelly Price, Beverly Crawford and Regina Belle. Charlotte's own Grammy-Award winning Cedric Thompson is serving as producer.

JoyFest 2011
This celebration of gospel music is returning to Carowinds, and this year’s powerhouse line-up includes recording artists Kirk Franklin, Fred Hammond, Marvin Sapp, Canton Jones and comedian Sinbad. The celebration will be emceed by Bone Hampton.

Memorial Day weekend, Pastor Otis Battles will be recording his new CD live in his hometown of High Point, N.C. The event is free and open to the public. The list of hits to be performed include “We Walk by Faith,” “Obey,” and “Hear the Voice of God.”
