Come ye thankful people come! As we continue to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, let us be mindful of the enormous sacrifice that he has made for you and me.

When Jesus returned to the disciples, they were anxious and frightened because they believed they had seen a ghost. If Jesus appeared to us today, I wonder how we would respond. Would we be shocked and anxious about his presence? Or would we be ready to receive him as the Risen Lord?

As you go about your week, remember what Jesus did for all of us that day on Calvary. Remember that his death set us free from the grips of sin and shame.

Our Risen Savior,

We come to you with grateful hearts for your unconditional love extended to us. We thank You for providing us with a peace that surpasses all understanding. We thank you for showing up and providing the disciples with the witness of your visit after your Resurrection. You provided the disciples with an opportunity to touch your hands. We thank you for the holes in your hands, for they bear the sins of our transgression. The holes in your hands represent your love for us.

So, Heavenly Father, as we approach each and every day that you give us, we are mindful of the sacrifice, the obedience, the trust and the love of your precious Son. We thank you for the love of your Son, Jesus the Christ. We will forever sing praises to your holy name. It is in the strong name of Jesus the risen Christ we pray! Amen! Amen and Amen.
