'Press Your Way Through'
Several weeks ago, I heard an old hymn titled "Press Your Way Through." As I go
through the days and weeks of hitting road blocks, detours, curves and even some potholes, I am reminded to press my way through, for God has a blessing if I just press my way through.
This old-time hymn gives a message of consolation and hope for all who are "going through" facing life’s challenges. The songwriter really knew what he was talking about, because even the smallest accomplishment, completing a task and hearing words of comfort are just a few reminders of the presence of our God.
Do you have a favorite song to keep you while on this journey we call life? I invite you to find a song, a scripture or a word that will increase your will to hold on just a little while longer. For if you press your way through, God really does have a blessing waiting for you! Let us pray!
Rev. Glencie Rhedrick
In His Precious Name,
I pray, O Lord of Hosts, that You will meet us on the pathways of life where we find ourselves wrestling with all that pushes us down. Help us, O Heavenly Father, to be reminded that You have the whole world in Your hands and because of that, we need only to look to You to find comfort, strength, courage and endurance.
Allow the rising and setting of the sun to remind us of Your power to control all matters that confront us. Remind us of Your strength and might as we witness the roaring seas and the powerful winds. Remind us of Your peacefulness as we feel the softness of the wind against our faces. Remind us, oh Lord, that just as You provide for the plant and animal life, you provide for us, Your children.
Grant us, oh Lord, strength, peace, courage and endurance as we continue our journey. For You promised in Your Word that all things will work together for the good for those who love You, Lord, and are called according to Your purpose. So grant us the assurance to know that You have a blessing waiting for us if we just press our way through.
We humbly submit this prayer in the matchless name of the risen one, Jesus, the Christ , our Lord and Savior. Amen. Amen. And Amen.
