The Park Church will hold an uptown, outdoor worship service
The corner of Trade and Tryon may never be the same come Friday night.
That’s when The Park Church will hold an outdoor worship service in the symbolic heart of uptown Charlotte.
The 8 p.m. service -- prayers, songs and call to salvation – will be hosted by Enter Act, an outreach team within the church’s young adult ministry. Park Associate Pastor the Rev. Nicole Martin will lead the service.
It won’t be the first time that The Park has taken its message to uptown streets. In April the ministry hosted a cookout in Marshall Park for homeless citizens as part of its Solidarity Week with the homeless.
Friday’s event will be the first of two outdoor gatherings planned for the summer months. The second is planned for Aug 5.
“It’s time to bring the church beyond the four walls of the church,” Martin said. “The whole premise of Enter Act is to have an authentic encounter with Christ and an authentic encounter with others. We believe this is something that can be shared with the city of Charlotte.” Rev. Nicole Martin.
The street ministry is asking for attendance and prayers in order to the make the event a success.
