This day, I will rejoice
“This is the day that Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
What does it mean when you say those words? Do we really understand the magnitude
of what we are saying?
When I think about it, I am reminded that, because of my relationship with God, I rejoice in knowing that He created this day, and not man. I am reminded that God touched me this morning, thus making it a day that He has made. He is allowing me an opportunity to share in it.
In the goodness of His waking us up this morning, we have a responsibility to rejoice and be glad. In other words, why awake each morning with a sorrowful attitude about life? For this day, the Lord saw fit to awaken you in a right mind as a witness to His goodness and His mercy.
How, then, do you choose to use this day? As we seek God this day in prayer, let us be mindful of all that our Lord and Savior has done for us.

Oh, most sovereign God,
We come with a thankful heart for all of your wonderful and marvelous treasures that you have given us this day. By the mere fact that we are able to wake and see the splendors of your creation, we are truly thankful.
You are such a forgiving God, and we thank You that you chose to give us one more chance to change our ways. We thank You for standing by even us when we don’t deserve it. We thank You for picking us up and dusting off the cruelness of life. We thank You for whispering the words of hope and showering us with Your unconditional love. We thank You for turning us around and putting us on the right path. We thank You, Lord, for the opportunities You offer us to be foot soldiers for Your will and Your way. We thank You, Lord, for creating us in Your image and empowering us to show love, and to provide grace and mercy to our sisters and brothers. We thank You for giving us this day!
We love You, Lord! We thank You, Lord, for the strength to endure this day with grace, perseverance, determination and persistence, for You gave us this day to live fully and completely in Your midst. Bless us, Lord, as only You know how! For it is in the Spirit of Your precious Son, our life sustainer, our freedom fighter, our deliverer, Jesus the Christ, that I pray this prayer!
Amen, Amen, and Amen
