The buzz last weekend was all about the movie "Red Tails," the thrilling story of the Tuskegee Airmen. I loved seeing many of you standing in line (shows were sold out). I hope you enjoyed the film as much as I did.

Are you taking advantage of Queen's Feast -- Charlotte Restaurant Week? I had a great time at one of the city’s high-end steakhouses. I'm hooked and have two more stops on my agenda. This event runs until Sunday, Jan. 29. Don't miss out. http://www.charlotterestaurantweek.com/.

Ready for the Super Bowl? I could hardly contain myself watching the play off games. As a matter of fact, I was so nervous that I had to leave a football  party minutes before the Giants/49 Niners game ended. I was relieved to hear my Giants pulled out a win.

If you are looking for a place to watch the Super Bowl, look no more. The Charlotte Area Association of Black Journalists is hosting a fundraiser party, and you are invited. Check out Qcitymetro’s events listing for more information. I hope to see you there.

Here are my weekend picks:
