Edith Boyd has always liked clothes.
As a young girl, she would sometimes dress up in her mother’s outfits. She especially liked her mother’s pants, high-heel shoes and fur coat.
Boyd attributes her sense of style to her mother and father, who she said were sharp dressers.
Boyd, affectionately called “Dame” by her friends, still pays homage to her mother and grandmother: She often wears a broach and a fur coat, which she says are among her most cherished possession.
The stylish, 56-year-old works as a certified nurse's assistant and as a part-time stylist at Styles by Privilege, a local boutique that offers custom clothing and fashion styling services.
“Fashion comes from within, and you have to feel good about yourself inside first,” she said.

Q. Describe your personal style.
Classic, with a hint of glamour from the 1920s and 1930s.
Q. Where do you like to shop?
Neiman Marcus in Atlanta, Chanel in New York and some antique and vintage boutiques. I don’t buy clothes; I have clothes.
Q. My perfect outfit is… form-flattering dresses, gloves and Rakishly tilted hats.
Q. What designers do you like?
Ralph Lauren and Old Gucci and Givenchy.
Q. My favorite accessory is… pearls, hats, gloves and brooches.
Q. I never leave home without… my hat, gloves, and coordinated handbag.
Q. Are you a shoe fanatic? What’s your favorite pair?
Yes, indeed. My favorite are my back-and-white spectators.
Q. Name two items in your closet you would never give away.
My fur I’ve had for 20 years and my favorite vintage gown.
Q. What’s the piece of jewelry you wear most often?
My diamond earrings.
Q. My favorite color… is soft turquoise.
Q. What’s your latest fashion obsession?
Vintage Chanel anything.
Q. I wouldn’t be caught wearing… short dresses (meant for some but not for me.)

Pearls. Statue handbag. Before age 39 something from Prada. Above age 50 something from Dior.

I’ve never worn makeup, only lipstick.
Q. My favorite fragrance is… Gucci by Gucci. I love it.
Q. I pamper myself with… a bubble bath, manicure and a pedicure.
