With the summer heat finally giving us a break, it's time to think about new looks for the fall.

Color is a great way to freshen things up. With violet, greens and berries making there way back onto the runway, adding rich browns or even an autumn red with undertones of those colors to your hair is a great way to modernize your look.

If you’re not into hair color, then a new hairstyle might be the way to go. Straight lines and strong bangs add an edge to conservative business attire and compliment the leather looks that are big this fall/winter. Meanwhile, soft wavy hair adds a bit of whimsy to a chiffon blouses or wool slacks.

When deciding which color to choose for your skin type, your hair stylist will look at the undertones in your skin to determine what’s best. I recommend looking at a color chart so that you and your stylist are on the same page. Bad communication can turn into color catastrophe! Show your stylist how you see yourself so that you and she/he can come up with the perfect hue.

If your thinking of a new haircut, I always advise my clients to go for it; don't half way do it! To determine the best length and shape for your face and body type, try on various wigs or tear out pictures from a magazine and take them to the salon with you. That way your stylist can help you make a decision that’s best for you and your lifestyle.

And if I may leave you with a bit of advice: Stay true to yourself and always wear what looks good on you!
