A Sprinkle of Diversity
I hope you enjoyed Easter weekend. I'm sure many of you, including myself, could
have taken Monday off, simply for a day of rest.
For those who don’t know, Bull & Barrister is Charlotte's “new” jazz hot spot. It’s free, and there is plenty of room for ladies and gents to mix and mingle.
Last Thursday, grown folks’ jazz was hosted there by Jazz Diva Tammy. It was hot and sizzling, just the way we like it! Shableek and Uncommon Jazz were on fire. I saw many jazz fans from last year’s hot spot the Forte, and I hope to see you there soon!
I don't know where you were on Friday, but watching Kirk Whallum perform at Halton Theater is where you should have been. I thought the Al Jarreau concert back in March was good, but Kirk's show was smoking! Terence Young, the opening act, was awesome as he set the pace for the crowd. He tore it up. For those who attended, I know you had a blast. And who said the Queen City doesn't give good Jazz?
In case you haven't made weekend plans, take a look at my picks:
