Author E. Lynn Harris dead
E. Lynn Harris, the best-selling Arkansas author known for contemporary stories about African-Americans, has died.
His publicist Laura Gilmore said Harris, 54, died after being stricken while staying at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif. The cause of death has not been determined.
Harris was on a West Coat book tour promoting his 11th book, Basketball Jones. Known as the "male Terry McMillan," Harris started his career self-publishing and sold his books from the trunk of his car in Atlanta.
Harris published 11 novels, 10 of which were on The New York Times best-seller list.
