Last weekend I fell victim to one of those miserable summer colds. I can't remember the last time I was lucky enough to catch one.

Instead of "On the Town with Toni," it was more like “On the Couch with Toni.”

I did manage to get out Friday to attend Slam Charlotte at Spirit Square. I don't know how many of you are familiar with the poet Queen Sheba. The Queen sashayed on stage as if she owned the place, and her performance pretty much spoke for itself.

I was so impressed with her that I quickly scrambled out of my seat to meet this beautiful sister and to compliment her on such an exhilarating performance. If you haven't experienced her, you're in for a royal treat!

So now that I'm well rested, let's get ready for this weekend.
