The other day a friend sent me a link to a website called bootycall.com. My friend was appalled that such a site could exist. I went to the site and was likewise appalled.

Bootycall.com is a site, started by a man named Moses Brown, that is slated to bring in more than $10 million this year by offering "no-strings-attached introductions for sexual encounters" – aka, booty calls.

I say, "Shame on you, Moses Brown!"

It must look pretty good when you get your bank statement each month, but I wonder if you sleep much.

I wonder if you think about the lives you touch. The men who grow cold, calloused and diseased as they endlessly pursue meaningless sexual encounters. The women who become used and ashamed after allowing themselves to engage in this dangerous and mindless behavior. The diseases that are spread. The unplanned pregnancies.

Have you ever seen animals breeding in the wild or a movie of animals mating? The females’ only job is to pick and choose. The males’ job is to woo her. His job is to make the right sound, look the right way and to demonstrate to her that he is the right "guy" for her.

The animals have it right.

We as women need to stop accepting degrading behavior and then giving ourselves sexually to men. Men don't build lives with "booties."

Real men don't do booty calls. They know that half of the pleasure of "the act " is the lead-up! Real men engage what’s above the neck before they engage what’s below the waist.

Real women don't allow booty calls. If it ain't right when the feet are on the floor, it won't be right when they are in the bed, either.

Let's stop dressing up the words and wrapping them with cute bows. Booty calls are nothing more than promiscuous and dangerous sex acts.

What bootycall.com promotes is below prostitution. In this setup, only the "pimp" ( Moses Brown) gets paid. The "john" and the "call girl" are left with only disease, illegitimate births and shame.

To Brotha Brown, I say : You have the right first name. Moses was a man who, in biblical times, led the people of Israel out of bondage and into a land promised to them. Shame on you, Mr. Moses, for leading in the wrong way.

I like money. Money is a necessary tool that most of us wish we had more of. But money at this price is money I will never have. You are obviously a bright, innovative and talented man. I challenge you to use your talent and your money to build safe and wholesome avenues for our children to walk on.
