Actor Chris Tucker may be funny but we aren’t sure how smart he is.

He owes the state of California's over $3 million in back taxes.

According to The Detroit News, the state filed a $3,594,409 lien against Tucker on June 24 --  for four years worth of unpaid taxes.

According to the lien, he owes state taxes for the years 2001-02 and 2004-07.

All we can say is we hope he's making a payment plan. We wouldn't want him to end up like Ron Isley.
