Qcity fashionista Tasha Strong has a dream, so recently the 35-year-old took a chance to make it come true.

Pushing aside her jitters, the Reidsville, N.C., native drove alone to Linden, N.J., to audition for Oprah Winfrey's upcoming show, "Search for the Next TV Star."

Strong, who appears on a weekly segment of "Fox News Rising" called "Life & Style Tip of the Week," hopes that her talk-show concept -- Beyond Perception - will be chosen.

Winfrey and TV producer Mark Burnett launched the contest to give aspiring talkies a chance to present their ideas to the media mogul.

The new show is scheduled to air in January 2011.

Strong, a mother of three, describes her concept as a cross between the show "The Actor's Studio" and BET's "Teen Summit" from back in the day.

"I want people to tell their journey of what it takes to make it," said Strong, adding that even the most successful people face obstacles and disappointments.

She hopes that by sharing those stories, the show will inspire others - especially young people -- to live their dreams.

If she wins, Strong said she'd like for singer Mary J. Blige to be her first guest.

So far, her concept has received more than 1,700 online votes. Some submissions, however, have gotten more than 5 million. But votes aren't the only way that Strong could win. She can also be chosen from the casting call she attended where she was called back the next day for a second interview. She'll be notified in about a month whether she's been chosen for the next round.

"I did something," she said. "I was scared to jump out there on my own, but it was a great feeling to have support and love from strangers. If I win, it will be the biggest blessing. I couldn't have dreamed anything larger."
