Edgy + Street x High Fashion = Marquise Harris
The first thing I noticed about Marquise Harris were his sneakers..jpg)
I was at an event when, out of the corner of my eye, I spotted a pair of flashy gold high-top Adidas. When I walked across the room to investigate, it was then that I noticed Harris' eclectic urban style.
The 24-year old says he lives and breathes fashion. Although he currently works in customer service at Ikea, he hopes to move to New York to pursue his dream of becoming a fashion stylist.
Here, now, are his style essentials:
***
My personal style is: Edgy + Street x High Fashion = My Personal Style.
I'm inspired by: The mood I'm in or what atmosphere I'm going to be in.
I shop at: Jordanos, Black Sheep, Flava Factory, but most of my shopping is done online. I love to shop online because there are a lot of one-of-a-kind pieces. My favorites websites are www.yesstyle.com and www.giantvintage.com for sunglasses.
I look my best in: Whatever I put on, but if I had to choose I'd have to say a V-neck T-shirt, jeans, a fitted cap and a dope pair of sneakers, like my Jeremy Scott Mickey Mouse Adidas..jpg)
My favorite color is: Black. You can do so many different things with black. There's just something about it. You can dress it up or down. It never gets old.
Every well-dressed man should own: A wide variety of footwear.
The person I would most like to style is: Rihanna. Her look is so versatile. She's a style icon.
My favorite accessory is: Sunglasses. I love a nice set of big frame.
I never leave home without my: iPod.
I wouldn't be caught wearing: Excessively baggy clothing. When you wear baggy clothes, people look down on you and stereotype you. Also, it just doesn't look good. It takes away from your look.
I always splurge on: Sneakers. I have a crazy addiction, and buying sneakers is my drug of choice. I have 50 to 60 pairs.
My signature scents are: Yves Saint Laurent L'Homme and Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue.
My favorite jeans are: Levis (classic denim) and Comuue (edgy denim).
My favorite fashion magazine is: Metro.pop. It showcases up-and-coming designers and stylists who you don't get to see in mainstream magazines.
My style advice to others: Don't be afraid to take risks with fashion. Think outside the box. It's best to be different and stand out in a crowd than to look like everyone else and not get noticed at all.
