Fabulous at 40
The weather is getting warmer and the Qcity streets are starting to come alive. There are
plenty of places to explore, people to meet and parties to attend.
Last week I attended Felicia Gray's 40th birthday bash, which was given by her husband, Herb Gray, at the couple’s home.
The vivacious host was dressed in a cream cocktail dress and dazzling Sergio Rossi shoes (photo below), her favorite birthday gift from Herb. She greeted her guests on a pink “red carpet.” Photographers snapped Hollywood-style pictures in front of a large ice sculpture bearing her name.
Felicia Gray is a relief test manager at Bank of America, and she loves to entertain. She said she was happy to have her friends and family -- especially her mother, Lossie Walton, who was visiting from Virginia – there to celebrate with her.
As a token of her appreciation, guests were treated to chair massages. A local artist drew caricatures of some in attendance.
Among the 100-plus guests were Patrick Graham, president and CEO of the Urban League of the Central Carolinas, and Charlotte City Council member David Howard.
"It feels pretty good to turn forty,” Gray told Qcitymetro.com. “It's all about where you are spiritually, mentally and physically. In your mind, you have to be in a good place.”
Now how's that for a fabulous 40th birthday party?
