Last weekend I attended the screening of “Terror at Home: Domestic Violence in America,” which was hosted by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. What a powerful film.

It was followed by a panel discussion that was equally informative. Special thanks to the Deltas for providing us with such instrumental tools.

I also had an opportunity to view the film "The First Grader." It is a wonderful, uplifting true story and celebration of learning and a reminder that we should not take the privilege of learning for granted. I highly recommend seeing this film before it leaves the Queen City.

If you haven't made plans, check out my weekend picks.
