Tiffany Nicole Peters and Hasaan Amiri Kirkland first met at Washington State University in 1993 – she was a freshman, he a senior.

“Moments after my parents dropped me off...,” Tiffany recalled, “I saw this fine and unquestionably confident cocoa brother walking across the street from the student union who truly stopped me in my tracks.”

Eleven years later at the Charlotte Center City Hilton, Tiffany and Hasaan became husband and wife. But first they had to overcome the problem of 3,000 miles that separated them.
