Letha Taylor is a fixture on Charlotte's social scene.

Whether you see her bartending at a special event or greeting customers as the front desk manager at No Grease in uptown, she's always dressed in a creative way that makes you smile and say, "That's just Letha."

The 43-year-old says her love for fashion began as a child, when she played dress-up in her grandmother's clothes.

Here, now, are her Style Essentials:

Q. Describe your style.
It's eclectic, Bohemian and chic. I don't care for matchy-matchy clothes. I coordinate and experiment with colors, prints and textures. I like to layer then complete the look with bold accessories. It's like being an artist when I create my look.

Q. What celebrity’s style do you most admire?
I have a little Baduism ( Erykah Badu) -- I'm going to wear it, and I don't care if you don't like it, fashion freedom! She speaks freedom through her music and what she wears, and sometimes don't wear.

Q. I like to shop at:
Consignment boutiques (Charlotte's Sweet Repeats). I hit the jackpot in Las Vegas at the Buffalo Exchange. Some high-end boutiques send what they don't sell to consignment. I don't mind getting a great deal on an item from last season.

Q. Are you into specific designers?
Not really, but I have collected some very nice pieces from Lafayette 148, the classic Roberto Cavalli and Rocco Barocco fun jeans and Venvus Phli one of a kinds.

Q. What's your favorite accessory?
My headwraps (gele) -- it's a part of my culture. I feel good wearing them, and they also work well as cover-ups while my hair is under construction.

Q. I never leave home without my:
Underwear. My great-grandmother told me, "Don't you leave home without clean underwear on.”

Q. Are you a shoe fanatic? How many pairs do you own?
I think about 80; my friends say more! Especially the ones who have helped me move (I love boots)

Q. What item in your wardrobe can't you live without?
I really don't have an obsession for clothes, but I do treasure my Diana Ross album-cover handbag and my multi-colored pony hair boots.

Q. What piece of jewelry do you wear most?
My mother's class ring.

Q. My favorite color is:
Red. My favorite accent colors are browns, orange and beige (earth tones).

Q. What's your latest fashion obsession?
Crochet earrings

Q. I wouldn't be caught wearing:
Once upon a time flats.

Q. What's in your handbag?
Vitamin B12, business cards, my makeup bag, afro pick and debit card.

Q. What's your latest fashion splurge?
Four pairs of flats.

Q. Name three items every stylish woman should own.
A classic black dress, sexy black heels and flesh-tone undergarments.

Q. What's in your makeup bag?
Mac powder, Lancome Fever lip gloss, Burt's Bees lip balm, eye and lip liner (whatever is on sale).

Q. What's your favorite fragrance?
I like perfume oils - Vanilla, Nag Champa and Amber.

Q. How do you maintain your hair?
Wash twist and roll. I've been natural for over 20 years. I use a tea tree shampoo (Taliah Waajid), lock-it hair cream, along with hair milk by (Carols Daughter) to two strand twist then I roll the twists on sponge rollers. The look is a curly twisted fro.

Q. How do you pamper yourself?
A trip to Charleston, S.C., where I just sit on the beach and allow the sound of the ocean to massage my mind and spirit.

Q. What style rules do you live by?
When it comes to my style and my love for fashion, there are no rules. I wear what makes me feel good!
