Am I my Sistah's keeper?

Last weekend I attended “Do Black Women Have a Monopoly on Hatin' each other?” Powerful dialogue and positive exchanges between some of Charlotte's most beautiful women.

I personally encourage each and every one of us to praise and celebrate each other. Emotions were passionate during the evening as we intensely absorbed heartfelt conversations. Unfortunately we ran out of time, but knowing Marina, there will be a Part II!

Just remember, Sistahs, if I'm okay with me I shouldn't have to try to tear you down. Take a stand today to begin to plant seeds of spiritual growth, love and acceptance. Lastly, when you see a Sistah smile, say hello and compliment one another. It doesn't cost you anything, and your inner beauty will shine.

Early Bird Special ~ McColl Center for Visual Arts is hosting an opening reception, Green Shadow. Come out and celebrate the center's newest exhibition -- Jeff Schmuki, environmental and installation artist. Cost: Free. SATURDAY
SENSORIA: A Celebration of the Arts ~ “One in the Spirit,” produced by Brian Daye. Watch this faith-based play that focuses on the lives of three African American couples representing the many stages of marriage and life. Watch the drama unfold on stage as these Southern neighbors form a strong bond, experiencing the ups and downs of life, death, infidelity and spirituality, all the while moving closer toward one another and God. Tell your friends! I saw the play Wednesday evening.  Time: 1:00 p.m. Cost: Free.
