There is definitely a trend toward older, or more “seasoned,” women dating younger men. We have seen this played out in the media so much lately, most notably on ABC’s hit show, “Cougar Town,” starring Courteney Cox.

I was having dinner with my sister and nephews and found out that one of the twins was dating a girl who is 18 years old. Hello, he is only 15.

I know it is getting rough out there to find men, but have we resorted to cruising the playgrounds? Needless to say, my sister is ready to beat down this would-be cougar in training.

Some of the more famous cougars are Cher, Madonna, Demi Moore, Mariah Carey, Terry McMillan and honorable mention to Elton John.

Well, make place in the Cougar Den for another feline femme fatale on the prowl. Fierce actress of film and television, Vivica A. Fox, got engaged over the holidays to her much-younger boyfriend, Omar "Slim" White, a 27-year-old concert promoter. Sources say he asked for Fox's hand in marriage on Dec. 26 and presented the diva with an 8-karat rock.

Vivica is an old pro when it comes to dating younger men. Remember her stint with the rapper, 50 Cents?

Fox appeared on “The Wendy Williams Show” in December and shared that she and Atlanta native White are hoping to have a baby in 2011.

This is cute; the cougar wants cubs.

"My career has been my baby for such a long time, and I've done well by that," Fox said on he show. "I waited for God to send me a good man, and he's a good Southern man."

I think the times are a changing, people. I love it that some of the seasoned dolls are saying, “I am not letting all this fierceness go to waste.” The new must-have accessory for seasoned, divas, is some young, boy eye candy on your arm.

These are not your grandmother’s cougars, who back in the day would hitch their scoot-about to a passing car of young tenderonies at Cougar Country Safari. Today’s cougars are built successful and fierce. If you think about it, it works sexually because men are the most randy when they are younger, and women reach their sexual peak when they are older, so the combination is, well, explosive.

A friend asked me if women who date younger men are called “cougars,” then what do we call men who date younger women? “Predictable,” I replied without missing a beat.

Ladies, if you have a taste for tender flesh but aren’t sure of your cougar status, I offer you Professor Locs’ 5 Signs you might be one:

5. Your date picks you up on the school bus.

4. Instead of the Spice channel getting you going, you prefer the Disney Channel.

3. He wants to take you to a “nice dinner” and you end up at Chuck E Cheese’s.

2. He surprised you with concert tickets, but instead of Maxwell you find yourself at a Hannah Montana performance.

1. You notice he puts Similac in his coffee instead of cream.

So to all you cougars and cougar supporters: Sharpen those claws, work the tall grass and pounce on that fine young antelope when he least expects it. Meow!!!
