Music all around the world
Rihanna’s “We Found Love” is storming the charts worldwide, coming in at #1 on the iTunes Top 10 Songs list in the UK, Gernany, Finland Ireland, Luxembourg, New Zealand, and Switzerland. The song is in the #4 spot on the U.S. iTunes charts, behind Justin Bieber, LMFAO and Adele. “We Found Love” was produced by Calvin Harris and is Rihanna’s first single from her sixth album, which is due in November.
Justin Bieber’s “Mistletoe” tops the U.S. iTunes charts, but American teenage girls are not the only ones in the mood for a little holiday cheer in the middle of October. “Mistletoe” is also #1 in Canada, Norway and Sweden. The single is the first off the teen heart throb’s forthcoming album, “Under the Mistletoe,” a holiday album featuring Boys II Men, Usher, Mariah Carey, Busta Rhymes and country stars The Band Perry.
Adele’s “Someone Like You” is still in heavy rotation around the globe. The single tops the charts in France and Portugal and comes in at #3 on the U.S. iTunes charts. Watch in the following clip, as the British singer wows the crowd at MTV’s Video Music Awards this summer with a stripped down, no props, no gimmicks, just-sheer-talent rendition of the song from her sophomore album, “21.”
LMFAO’s “Sexy and I Know It” is also storming the charts. The American electro-hop duo have the top spot in Australia and are #2 on the U.S. iTunes charts. The comically, boastful song is reminiscent of Right Said Fred’s “I’m Too Sexy” from 20 years ago and features SkyBlu and Redfoo rapping about how girls can’t resist their unorthodox style. The video features a bunch of oiled-up muscle men ripping off their pants and dancing around Venice Beach in Speedos.
David Guetta’s track “Without You” featuring Usher is #6 on the U.S. charts, coming in behind Foster The People’s “Pumped Up Kicks.” The track is from Guetta’s most recent album, “Nothing but the Beat“ - which also features several other artists including Lil Wayne, Ludacris, Chris Brown, will.i.am, Akon, Timbaland, Nicki Minaj and Jennifer Hudson, just to name a few.
Flo Rida’s “Good Feeling” has people in France feeling good. There the single is fourth on the charts, trailing Adele, Rihanna, and Maroon 5. The track, produced by Dr. Luke, samples Etta James’ vocals from her 1962 “Something’s Got a Hold on Me.” The song is from Flo’s fourth studio album, “Only One Rida (Part 2)”.
Maroon 5’s “Moves Like Mick Jagger” featuring Christina Aguilara is also popular, making the top 10 on the charts in the U.S., UK, France, Germany, Australia, Austia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Italay, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
