Happy Friday, everyone.

As we begin to unwind for another Qcity weekend, I hope many of you have taken advantage of Charlotte's restaurant week, which runs through Sunday, January 30.

I had the pleasure of dining at Del Frisco's in South Park. Needless to say, my meal was delicious. Can I let you in on a little secret? The three-course meal for $30 was a wonderful hit! The good news is they are now going to offer it every Sunday!!!

If you have champagne taste and beer money, this is the treat for you. Just make sure to RSVP. I hope to see you there.

Here are my picks for the weekend:

Friday
I just touch bases with Stephen Gordon. He and the Stephen Gordon Chamber band are ready to perform at The Mills in Noda. Time: 8 p.m. Check out the listing of the jazz musicians playing tonight. Price: $8

Saturday
On Q Productions presents Ain't Misbehavin’. This is one musical you don't want to miss. Although I have to admit, I am partial when it comes to Q Productions events. This musical will have you dancing in your seat and snapping your fingers with the cast. Get there early because this will sell out fast. Tickets can be purchased online. Price: $22. Location: McGlohon Theater. Attire: Whatever makes you feel comfortable. (Performances Friday, Saturday and Sunday) Saturday performance: 8 p.m. For more info: http://www.blumenthalcenter.org/default.asp?blumenthal=59&objId=2062

Sunday
Soup for the Sunday: This benefit is for Charlotte's hospice and palliative care. Come out for a great cause and sample the best soups in town. This is an annual event and one of my favorites. Soups from Charlotte's finest restaurants. You will want to get there early. I hear the lobster bisque and shrimp dumpling calling my name as we speak. I hope to see you there! Price: $30 food and beverages. Location: Central Piedmont Community College (425 N. Kings Drive). Time: 11 a.m. For more info: http://www.hpccr.org/
