I had the pleasure this week of attending a lecture with activist Angela Davis at the (Booth Theater) Blumenthal Performing Arts Center. Following the lecture I went to a private luncheon at the Gantt Center.

I have to admit, I was in awe as Davis extended her hand to greet me, and I asked if I could give her a hug. I began to tremble and my heart raced as I whispered, “Thank you, my sister,” and wiped away my tears. It's safe to assume this was one of those moments I will never forget.

Happy Valentine's Day! If you don't have plans, feel free to join my group, Chocolate Social Network, on Thursday. We are attending the play “La Ronde,” which is based on the relationships of 10 characters. This is a spicy production for a mature audience.

Purchase your ticket, email me and meet up with the group in the theater lobby. We hope to see you there!
