Dating can be difficult no matter your color.

Movies like “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner?” “Jungle Fever” and “Something Different” all depict African-Americans who cause a stir by dating outside of their race.

Knowing the complexity of the issue, we asked Qcity residents if they'd consider dating a person of another race.

Here’s what we got:

“Yes. I don’t see color. I see what I’m attracted to."

“Yes, if the situation presents itself. It’s not just beauty or the color of her skin. That won’t determine the length of our relationship. It’s all about who you are comfortable with.”

“Yes, because people are people. Love is universal.”

“Yes, and I already have. The blacker the berry the sweeter the juice.”

“Yes. It’s all about how a person treats you. If it’s someone I’m interested in, I can’t control that. It’s how they make you feel and how you relate to them.”
