This is a must-see film scheduled for release Mother’s Day weekend. The audience loved it! Yesterday was simply beautiful, and spring-like weather is in the air, too, for this coming President’s day weekend. I’m looking forward to just relaxing and having a little fun.

FRIDAY
The Blue Door by Tanya Barfield. A poignant journey into the soul of an African American mathematics professor grappling at the intersection of his own identity and cultural history. SATURDAY
A Night in Rio!!! The Brazilian Carnival Experience. We all know Brazil is known for its great soccer, but when it’s time to unwind, look out! The second annual “A Night in Rio” will feature traditional dancing and Samba music. Audience participation is welcomed. Doors open at 7 p.m. Celebrations starts at 8 p.m. Location: The Neighborhood Theater (511 East 36th Street NODA) Cost: $10 in advance; $15 at the door. SUNDAY
Rhonda Thomas Live at the House of Jazz. The show will feature many new songs from Rhonda’s recent album, “Listen.” This is President’s Day Sunday. I hope to see you out for an evening of great jazz.
