Qcity Radio: The Rush — Episode 1
For a large contingent of traditional radio listeners, the airwaves haven’t exactly been the best place to find great music in ages.
Just flip on your dial at any point of the day, and you’ll probably be bombarded by a handful of not-so-listenable songs ... over and over again. And while everyone knows that is a problem, what’s the remedy?
Enter: The Rush.
Produced and hosted by DJ A Rock — a famed Charlotte-based record spinner who rocks parties from coast to coast and has worked the wheels of steel for artists like Naughty By Nature, reggae artist Lady Saw and more (pictured right) — and his partner in crime known only as The Prophetic, The Rush is a program designed to shine a spotlight on classic hip-hop and soul music.
Appearing exclusively on Qcitymetro.com every Tuesday, The Rush will feature hilariously insightful conversations about today’s music scene, interviews with artists of note and — best of all — mixes of the best music you need to hear.
For the inaugural episode, A Rock and Prophetic talk with legendary hip-hop pioneer Blondie from the groundbreaking old-school group The Sequence. Take a listen by clicking on the link below, and then come back next Tuesday for a new edition.
