Rapper Jay-Z is a free man.

According to a report by RapRadar.com Jay-Z confirms he is no longer on Def Jam records. He’s been with the label for almost his entire career in rap music.

“Not everyone artist can say they own or are given the opportunity to own all their own music.” Jay-Z said.

Rumors have been reported he paid $5 million to get out of his contract.

We’re not mad at him. It’s a powerful thing to be in the position to do that. We guess Jay-Z  meant it when he rapped “Money Ain’t A Thang.”

Congratulations to him.  We’re looking forward to hearing what’s next for the talented rapper.
