It’s been 13 years since Lauryn Hill released her first solo album “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.”

L-Boogie, who recently gave birth to her sixth child, sat down with Reebok to discuss the continued success of the classic album. She says she didn’t expect the album to touch fans to the extent that it did.

“I don’t think I understood to what degree other people would really be deeply impacted,” she said. “I was really trying to express myself.”

Her self-expression resonated with scores of listeners - both male and female, young and old. Many fans have said it was like Hill took the words and emotions right out of their own hearts and put it into her music.

In this clip, Hill explains the message she wanted the album to convey.
