Ronisha Simmons and Antonio Leonard attended the same elementary and middle schools. When they saw each other on the playground, generally, they would fight. They started dating in high school.

For Ronisha, graduating from high school was bittersweet. It meant they would be separating as they pursued their college ambitions. That’s when Antonio invited her out to dinner.

They went to her favorite restaurant, and when the waiter delivered her meal on a covered plate, she was convinced he had it all wrong. She refused to even uncover it.
