Singer Natalie Cole underwent kidney transplant surgery in Los Angeles on Tuesday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center according to a story on CNN.com.

Cole, the daughter of legendary singer-actor Nat King Cole, was diagnosed with Hepatitis C a year ago and has struggled with kidney problems while undergoing treatment.

Cole, 59, had been receiving kidney dialysis three times a week since September. She is expected to spend the next three to four months recuperating. She plans to reschedule her summer tour dates in support her current Grammy winning CD, "Still Unforgettable."
