Testifying before a jury in civil assault case, Snoop Dogg denied hitting a man with a brass-knuckle microphone during a melee at one of his 2005 concerts.

The rapper (real name: Calvin Broadus) spent nearly two hours on the stand Monday and denied hitting Richard Monroe Jr., who is suing Broadus for $22 million, according to the Associated Press.

Broadus was shown a video of the fracas, which occurred after Monroe climbed onto the stage while the rapper was performing his hit “Gin and Juice.” Broadus identified several people near the struggle as being affiliated with The Game, a fellow rapper who toured with Snoop on the "How the West Was Won" tour.

Broadus said he went back to his tour bus immediately after Monroe jumped on stage and was tackled by security, according to AP.
