Good morning Qcity! Today we are taking a look back at the year in and out of love with a few well-known couples that have stayed in the headlines.

Kim K & Kris Humphries — Not too many of us really expected this union to last. Many doubt it was even real. The 72-day marriage thrust Humphries from relative obscurity to being dubbed the “most hated player in the NBA.” Last night at the New Jersey Nets' season-opening game, fans jeered whenever Humphries touched the ball.

Herman & Gloria Cain — Gloria stood by her man as several women accused him of sexual harassment. After Ginger White came forward claiming to be Cain’s mistress of 13 years, the presidential hopeful said his decision to continue seeking the Republican nomination would hinge on a face-to-face conversation with his wife. Days later, he “suspended” his candidacy.

Will & Jada Pinkett Smith — Alicia Keys sang their love was “unbreakable,” but this year it appeared to at least crack a bit. In August, rumors of an alleged affair and talks of divorce began circulating. The couple, who have been married for 13 years, denied those accusations, issuing a joint statement that their marriage was “intact.”

Beyoncé & Jay-Z — The notoriously guarded couple opened up a lot in 2011. Earlier this year, Bey finally began referring to “Jay” as her husband. Then, she let it all out the bag when she announced her pregnancy on the MTV Video Music Awards. News of the announcement became the year’s top trending topic on Twitter, receiving more tweets than the death of Osama Bin Laden.

Vanessa & Kobe Bryant — Vanessa didn’t divorce her NBA-superstar husband when he stood trial after being falsely accused of sexually assaulting a Colorado hotel worker. But after 10 years of marriage and no prenuptial agreement, Mrs. Bryant appears to have had enough. She filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences. Reports cite Kobe’s infidelities for the break up.

Deion & Pilar Sanders — They had quashed rumors of a split earlier this year, after photos surfaced online of a sleeping Deon in the bed of a strange woman and rumors began circulating that he had been caught cheating with a 19 year old. Earlier this month, Deion filed for divorce from his wife of 12 years, stating that she and he are moving on to “the next phase” of their individual lives.

Jackie & Doug Christie — While some other baller wives may have been giving their hubbies the deuces, Jackie and Doug were too busy planning another wedding to get divorced. The couple celebrated their 17th wedding this year, and it was all caught on camera this season on VH1’s reality show “Basketball Wives.”
