If you’ve been watching the U.S. Open, you know that Venus Williams, once again, is making headlines for more than just her winning ways.

Yes, she’ll play in the women’s semifinals on Friday, but what’s really got folks talking, of course, has been her choice of outfits.

Even the Qcity’s own Nsenga Burton, writing for TheRoot.com, has chimed in, calling Williams’ choice of clothing “tacky.”

Burton noted, in particular, a “bedazzled pink ‘tennis dress’ that looked more like a long T-shirt… The dress kept rolling up and exposing her undergarments during the entire match.”

During one match, Williams tugged at the outfit so much that the network started a tug count, which reached 42.

“The Williams sisters are not fashionistas,” Burton proclaimed, describing their taste as “half hoochie and half swap meet.”
