Our Golden Boy Will Smith is doing his thing in Hollywood once again.

His production company, Overbrook Entertainment, has partnered with Sony Pictures Entertainment to bring to light one of the heroes of the Hurricane Katrina aftermath.

As reported to Alliphop.com, the two companies have bought the movie rights to the story of former Marine John Keller, who protected and rescued nearly 244 of his neighbors from a building flooded by Katrina.

The announcement from Overbrook and Sony did not specify production start date or casting. The Times Picayune reports that Overbrook executive Jeff Sommerville has confirmed that Smith will likely portray the six-foot-seven Keller.

The film will be written and directed by John Lee Hancock, the writer behind the 1997 movie “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.”
