Ms. Charlie Mae Potts departed this life on Wednesday, February 2, 2011.

She was the daughter of the late Curtis & Queen Ester Potts of Fort Mill, South Carolina. Ms. Potts resided in Charlotte, NC, most of her life.

Ms. Potts was a faithful member of East Stonewall A.M.E. Zion Church, Stewardess Board #2, and a member of Pisgah Temple #228-IBPOE of W.

She enjoyed many fun trips to Camp Dogwood, and annual Outer Banks fishing trips with the American Association for the Blind. She also spent summer vacations at the beach, her favorite place to be. She enjoyed a long and loving career at the Methodist Home (Aldersgate) and the Park Hotel, both in Charlotte, NC.

She is survived by her children, Willie James Potts, Betty Potts Burns of Charlotte and Patricia Ann Alexander of Philadelphia, PA; sisters, Curley Ann Davis (Luther) of Charlotte, Louise “Honey” Culp of Fort Mill, and Geraldine Walker (George) of Washington, DC; grandson, Willie Potts Jr.

Special family members include the Freemans, Grices, Lewises, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Ms. Potts was loved by all.

Long & Son Mortuary Service served the Potts family.
