In memory: Mrs. Gladys W. Alexander
Gladys Walls Alexander, 74, was born on May 13, 1935, to late Flemming Walls, Sr. and Elma Elizabeth Walls. She graduated from Second Ward Senior High School. Later she earned an AA degree at Carter College.
Gladys worked for the city of Charlotte for 22 years as an administrative officer, which she retired. Then she worked for Alexander Funeral Home until her health failed.
Gladys received the Holy Ghost at a young age. She worked on the senior nurses’ board and also as G Class Secretary.
Gladys was married to Zechariah Alexander whom preceded her in death. Gladys also had a loving brother Flemming Walls Jr., whom preceded her in death.
She loved working with people, and also loved working in the House of Prayer. She also carried a beautiful smile at all times.
She leaves to mourn two loving children, Maxine Perry (Stanley) and Michael Alexander (Cheryl). One sister-in-law, Barbara Walls; three nieces, Angela Paige (Benny), Phyllis Heath (Tony), a very special niece Alea Paige. Ten nephews, Andrew Walls (Regina), San Antonio, Texas; Brien Walls, Xavier Walls, Christian Paige, Tevin Heath, O’Brien Walls, Branchez Walls, Andrew Walls II, Tory Walls, Devonti Walls, San Antonio, Texas; one granddaughter, Nakia Caldwell (Lionel); three great-grandchildren, Jamontray Alexander, Lil’ Antonio Williams and a very special great-grandson, Jayden Caldwell. She also had two godsons, Michael Adams and Gary Alexander and a host of relatives and friends.
Gladys we love you and miss you but God loved you best.
Gladys died Wed, Oct. 21, in her Charlotte home.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.
Alexander Funeral Home is serving the family.
