Lula Mae Foster was born on Oct. 23, 1930 in Camden, S.C.  She was the eldest daughter of Lilly and Robert Carter, the mother of 6, grandmother of 9, and great-grandmother of seven.

On Wed Sept. 9, God called her home to be with Him, her parents, Lilly and Robert Carter, deceased husband, Jessie L. Foster, and daughter Marian P. Foster.  With Mrs. Foster being the diligent follower that she was, she gladly listened to His calling and went home.

She was a part of the pastor’s aid committee and Circle #3 with the Presbytery.  She attended Bread of Life Christian Ministries, formerly South Tryon Presbyterian Church from 1963 until now.

She was a very quiet individual, but she always had a lot of love in her heart.  Those who knew her only knew her to be a caring and motivating individual whose smile showed through her eyes.

The families hearts are heavy right now, but we know that she is all right, and safe from all harm and suffering now.  We know that this is God’s will, even if we weren’t ready to let her go.  The many lessons that she taught us over the years will now soon be forgotten.  We ask that the Lord give us strength during our time of grief and once again put smiles on our faces.

Mrs. Foster leaves to cherish her memory her siblings Mary Belle McIlwain, Lillie Mae Dixon, Roosevelt McIlWain (Betty), Robert Allen McIlwain (Lucille), and Clayburn McIlwain all of North Carolina and her children: Jessie F. Harris of Greensboro, N.C., Bettye F. Spears (John) of Charlotte, Christine Wallace of Tampa Fla., Dallas Foster (Ann) of High Point, N.C., and Carmella Foster of Riverview, Fla.  She also leaves her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Britain Foster (Suzanne) of Maryland with daughter Kyra; Aaron Foster of Wewchitcka, Fla with daughter Symone; Erika Harris of Charlotte; DeShelle Wilburn-Oliver (Tracy) of Riverview, Fla. with children Amber Bronson and Brian Bronson, Jr., Shana Harris of Greensboro, N.C., Kristipher Mathis of Bushnell, Fla. with sons Eugene and Kristipher Mathis, Jr.; Amber Spears of Charlotte, Tiffany DaCosta (Leighton) of Virginia Beach and Leikithia Mathis of Charlotte with son DeAndre Sifford, and a host of other nieces, nephews, and other relatives, friends, and church family.

Long & Sons Mortuary Service is serving the family.
