Katherine Elizabeth (Clair) Alston passed away on Tuesday, January 4 at Charlotte Presbyterian Hospital.

Born in Sanford, Florida, on June 6, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Estella Delancey Stowe and the late Clifford Lee Clair, Sr. She retired from Florence Crittenton Services of North Carolina after 30 years in dietary services

Mrs. Alston is survived by her daughter, Barbara Clair Pettiford of Greensboro; two sons Larry Alston (Jeanne Fox-Alston) of Silver Spring, MD, and Ernest Alston; three grandchildren, Kenneth and Kevin Alston of Silver Spring, MD, and Monica Ife Pettiford of Charlotte; one great-granddaughter, Camille Ife Pettiford, and a host of loving nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 8, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Baptist Church. A family hour and viewing will begin at 10 a.m.

Internment will be at North Pinewood Cemetery.
