Mr. Michael Strickland of Charlotte, formerly of Gadsden, Ala., son of Mrs. Emma Jean and Curtis Strickland passed on August 3, 2011 at Carolinas Medical Center-Main. He was 63 years old.

Survivors: Children, Michelle Stevens and Kadarius Strickland of Gadsden, Ala.; brothers, Thomas and Curtis Strickland of Charlotte; sisters, Mrs. Edith S. DeLaine, Mrs. Laura S. McClettie, and Mrs. Sandra S. Hill all of Charlotte.

At the request of the deceased, no service is planned. Memorial contributions may be sent to: The Strickland Scholarship Fund, Johnson C. Smith University, 100 Beatties Ford Road, Charlotte, NC, 28216.
