Mrs. Ozener Sloan Yancey, 86, departed this life on Sunday, October 17, 2010 at Presbyterian Hospital.

She was born in Concord, NC, on February 23, 1924 to the late William and Maggie Sloan. A celebration of her life will be held at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 3400 Beatties Ford Road, Charlotte, NC, 28216, on Friday, October 22, 2010 at noon, with visitation at 11 a.m.

Mrs. Yancey is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, James A. Yancey Sr.; one son, James A. Yancey Jr. (Rose); three daughters, Michelle S. Yancey, Patrice Y. Outen and Stephanie Y. Carter; six grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; one sister, Elsie S. Leslie; “adopted” son, Darryl Patterson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins an friends.
