Try to box Anthony Hamilton in if you want, family. The crooner says he’s not going to stifle his creativity.

Hamilton, a Q.C. native, told Vibe Magazine that his next album will have more of an alternative feel, “as opposed to being totally R&B and soul.

More of a rock feel, something outside of the box,” he added. “I’ve experienced a lot of things and have a large fan base. They’ve grown with me. I want to show them that.

Hamilton, who spent much of last year touring, said he hopes to start work on a new album next month. And he’s already thinking of acts to make a guest appearance: John Mayer, B.B. King, Mary J. Blige and the Rolling Stones.
