DJ AM was found dead in his New York apartment this morning (Aug. 28), officials confirmed to TMZ (according to Rolling Stone).
The New York Post reports the deejay was found with drug paraphenalia.
AM, born Adam Goldstein, was most notably known for his work with drummer Travis Barker of rock group Blink-182. Nearly a year ago, AM and Barker narrowly survived a plane crash in Columbia, S.C., that killed four other passengers.
Several celebrities have already hit Twitter to pay their respects to their friend and colleague.
Rapper Busta Rhymes questioned the universe, asking how AM, 36, could’ve been spared in the crash only to have died months later.
Producers DJ Khaled and Swizz Beats each tweeted “R.I.P.,” with Swizz Beats adding: “wowwwwwwww I'm sick rite now!”
R&B singer Brandy simply resent the last Twitter message sent Tuesday (Aug. 25) from AM’s account: "New york, new york. Big city of dreams, but everything in new york aint always what it seems."
