Looks like Lil Wayne will avoid jail time … at least for the time being.

Weezy was to enter his guilty plea for gun possession charges and begin serving a yearlong sentence today in New York.

But his legal team argued the New Orleans rapper needs dental surgery before his sentence starts, reports MTV.com.

Wayne is scheduled to have the dental work done Friday (Feb. 12) in Miami and be back in the New York court March 2.

“I don't want this to get pushed back anymore,” said presiding Judge Charles Solomon. “This is the last adjournment.”
