Could T.I. be facing more legal troubles?

The Atlanta rapper and his wife, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, were arrested in Hollywood, Calif. overnight and charged with alleged drug possession, AllHipHop.com reports. Reports say officers smelled marijuana coming from the couple’s car.

T.I., born Clifford Harris Jr., was released this spring from prison after he pleaded guilty to attempting to buy machine guns and silencers in 2007; he is currently on probation.

He and Cottle – of Xscape and “Tiny and Toya” fame – were released early this morning. The couple wed in July.

T.I. stars in new film “Takers,” which was No. 1 at the box office last week.

Update (3:20 p.m.): One of T.I.'s lawyers, Don Samuel, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution the rapper would be on his way back to Atlanta in the next 24 hours. T.I. has been advised to report to his probation officer once he returns to town. 

“It's almost certain he'll end up appearing before the court here,” Samuel said. “But without knowing all the facts, it's premature to speculate what the court is likely to do.”
