Charlotte-Mecklenburg police arrested a 19-year-old this morning and are searching for a second suspect in the shooting of another man during an armed robbery late Thursday in a parking lot at Steele Creek Road and South Tryon Street.

One of the two robbery victims, Timothy Renaldo Graham, was shot in the back and transported to Carolinas Medical Center, where he is in serious condition this morning, Officer Robert Fey said.

The shooting happened after two groups of people had arranged to meet each other in the parking lot, Fey said.

The second victim, Darius Rayvon McCrea, told police that he and Graham were met by two males who got into the rear of his Chevy HHR. The assailants then produced handguns and attempted to rob both victims, Fey said McCrea told police.

The assailants fired their guns, striking Graham once in the back, Fey said. McCrea wasn't struck by any of the bullets before one of the shooters drove off in McCrea's car.

Patrol officers in the Westover Division soon located the car in a gas station parking lot at West Boulevard and Remount Road. Police said they detained several people standing near the car. Other officers took McCrea there to identify anyone he'd seen during the robbery.

Police arrested and charged Quadarrian Antonio Morrison with two counts of felony robbery with a dangerous weapon and one count each of assault with a dangerous weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury with a gun, felony larceny of a motor vehicle, and conspiracy to commit armed robbery of a business person

Police haven't yet identified the second person in the shooting and robbery, Fey said. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
